Open Every Wednesday 10am-12pm
The mission of the CZ Food Pantry Ministry is to assist members of our community who are struggling to make ends meet. Many of our customers have experienced lay-offs and major health problems. Other customers have low-paying jobs, but the costs of utilities, food, and housing keep increasing.
“For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.”
Matthew 25:35-36
The pantry is maintained and operated by an all-volunteer staff of CZ members who do everything from donating, collecting, and sorting food, to filling the pantry shelves and distributing the food to our customers. For many of our customers, the weekly visit to our pantry gives them a sense of belonging and an opportunity to build good, supportive, and prayerful relationships with each other and with our volunteers.
Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Galatians 6:2
The pantry provides a wide assortment of non-perishable items, such as canned food, pasta, cereal, condiments, coffee, work socks, and toiletries. The local Publix grocery store graciously provides us with fresh, but day-old baked goods and bread. We have many generous churchgoers who drop off non-perishable food and other items. We keep a list on the pantry door of what is or is not needed.
Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
Hebrews 13:15-16
